Iscar Offers A Revolutionary Line Of Slitting Cutters Utilizing Tang-Grip Technology And The Strength Of Sumo Tec Grades Iscar currently offers a family of high-performance slitting tools that incorporate the convenience and security of Tang-Grip clamping with the increased durability of the revolutionary Sumo Tec insert grades. The concept, already established successful in Tang-Grip parting tools, has now been extended to slitting cutters. In the patented Tang-Grip clamping system, inserts are press-fit into their pockets accompanying a specialized hand tool, and are held tightly in place without the need without requiring clamps, upper jaws or set screws that can weaken the insert and impede chip flow. The pocket configuration uses cutting forces to keep the insert seated solidly in position, removing any risk of insert pull-out. The Tang-Grip clamping system also fosters increased accurate slitting cuts plus longer pocket and insert lifespan. Iscar's Sumo Tec insert grades feature a unique post-coating treatment which considerably improves tool life and constancy. Launched in late '07, the revolutionary Sumo Tec treatment smooths the insert's coated surface to banish microscopic stress raisers, reduce heat and friction and increase chip flow. The result is improved toughness and resistance to chipping and built-up edge, all leading to enhanced tool life. The golden-colored flank on Sumo Tec inserts aides wear detection. Size for size, Tangslit cutters offer more teeth than Iscar's SGSF cutters, providing higher feed rates. Their greater rigidity leads to straighter, additional accurate cuts and lowered vibration even in large-diameter cutters. The new Tangslit TGSF cutters come in 100 to 160 mm diameters, 3 and 4 mm widths and can accept the exact same variety of inserts as Tang-Grip parting tools. Additional sizes will be added. Existing Sumo Tec grades for Tangslit cutters include: IC808, with a tough submicron substrate beneath a Sumo Tec TiAlN PVD coating, giving excellent resistance to impact loads and built-up edge. This grade is endorsed for slitting heat resistant alloys, austenitic stainless steel, hard alloys and carbon steel. IC830, providing greater toughness for heavier parting and grooving involving interrupted cuts. It is suited for all stainless steel & high temperature alloys. IC908, a hard, fine-grain substrate with excellent chipping resistance, joined with a brand new Sumo Tec TiAlN PVD coating. It is ideal for nodular or grey cast iron. IC928 and 928A, PVD TiAlN-coated tough grades fitting for stainless steel, high temperature alloys and other alloy steels. These grades are also suggested for interrupted cuts and heavy operations. All Tangslit and Tang-Grip inserts are found in J- or C-type chipformer geometries from Iscar. Completely New End Mills By Iscar Can Multiply Productivity While Shrinking Costs Manufacturers and die & mold shops can banish chatter problems in numerous milling operations with Iscar's new Chatterfree end mills. The cutters' variable-pitch flute pattern eliminates harmonic vibration, the primary source of chatter. This enables faster cutting and finer finish in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling. Iscar Recently Releases Numerous Revolutionary Lines To Extend Their Family Of Milling Tools Iscar recently released a new family of High Speed Milling adjustable endmills and facemills that will improve milling of aluminum, non-metallics, cast iron and hardened steel. This should prove especially useful in the automotive and aerospace industries. New Cutters And Carbide Insert Configurations From Iscar To Better Maximize The Machining Process Iscar is introducing Penta 34 carbide inserts with a new PB chipformer. The PB chipformer features a single cavity with a positive rake, neutral shoulder angle, and a honed edge. It is actually a C-type chipformer with a different frontal edge. A Few Of The Countless Improvements In Carbide Inserts From Iscar Iscar is introducing a new unique milling system with tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts. The butterfly-shaped insert has significant advantages compared to the current flat, square shapes. The new geometry has more cutting edges, positive rake face, reduced cutting forces resulting in higher performance. Push Pull Testing For Construction Industry With Calibrated Measuring Instruments. Mechanical Load Testing Procedures For On Site Proof To Testing Requirements. Push Pull Testing for the Railway industry for proof of reliable anchor fixings. Calibrated push pull force gauges are used for stress load testing along with tensile strength pull testing procedures. Proof of load testing undertaken, measured, recorded in a reliable and standard way to BS5080 Part 1 standards. A Number Of Upgrades In Carbide Inserts Coming From Iscar Over The Past Decade Iscar is announcing a brand new unique milling system that includes tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts. The butterfly-shaped insert has meaningful advantages compared to the current flat, square shapes. The new geometry has more cutting edges, positive rake face, decreased cutting forces resulting in better performance.
