My sister and I planned a baby shower for one of our nieces. We decided to have it in the fellowship area of the local church because of the fact that it was a large guest list. We had the baby shower on a Saturday afternoon. We did want to have a few decorations for baby shower to give the room a festive feel. There is a bassinet that's passed to every new mother for the baby to sleep in for the first four to six weeks. This bassinet was my mother's. We decided that we would use the bassinet as the center of our baby shower party decorations.

The fellowship area has large round tables that seat ten individuals. We moved one table off on its own to be the gift table. We covered this table with a soft pink table cloth; our niece knows she is having a girl. We set the cradle in the middle of the table. We decided to use our presents for the baby shower party decorations. I had purchased a pink and white baby blanket, which we draped over the side of the bassinet. We pinned several rattles and other baby toys to the blanket with diaper pins. We then displayed the little outfits that my sister had purchased. We finished the baby shower decorations for the gift table by placing a large stuffed bear into the bassinet. It is so much fun to decorating for a baby shower!

For the buffet table we had an arrangement of freshly cut flowers from the local florist. She used soft pink carnations, baby's breathe and daisies for the collection. We decided that no other baby shower decorations needed to be put on this table. We did have pink napkins that we set on this table, along with a cake that was festooned with a stork holding a small doll in a pink frosting blanket.

We had also ordered a corsage for our niece and one for each of the new grandmothers to be. We felt that the room looked very nice and we would not have to spend a good deal of time cleaning up baby shower party decorations because they would all be sent home as gifts to our niece.

We had a great turn out for the shower. My niece received several very nice presents. She was glad that we had the baby shower in a space that was not cramped. As she progresses with the pregnancy she is feeling more claustrophobic. Within 30 moments after the shower was over the fellowship area was cleaned and we were on our way home.
